1228: After Vampires Hollywood Aims for Greek Gods

How come one free online mail provider can work with uploading attachments with one browser, but not with another? The same is true with another free online mail provider and another browser.

And since certain mail have to be sent using an official email address, one of those that does not successfully attach files, resort has been used to send to the official email address using an email that does successfully attach files, then from there, just forward it to the necessary recipients.

Of course, this is hoped to be just a temporary measure and that it would not be so inconvenient and convoluted in the future.

@@ Here is something that I guess is related to what was posted yesterday. People nowadays seem to also have been attuned to doing the least possible amount of work for the pay they receive.

This means that even though there are incentives to getting a little more profit for the boss, they are content with what they are already receiving without having to put in a little more effort.

If they receive a commission it is okay with them, but it’s also okay with them if they don’t. They don’t see it as a goal to reach for.

The long term benefits are too far off for them to see, that if the business flourishes, they will reap the rewards, and if they just continue with their present stagnation, one day the boss will be forced to either let go of the current staff for those who have better working drive or close up shop completely.

@@ This is me getting very close to vehemently shooting down people who liked the new Clash of the Titans movie.

I just wish that once they would be able to portray the Greek gods majestically and not as caricatures.

This has been done in the Disney movie Hercules, Percy Jackson and in the aforementioned latest movie.

Reading on mythology, the gods acted more like humans, playing out their every whim but at the same time indulging in their worshippers.

Remember that at the time it was mostly for entertainment value and at the same time trying to make sense out of all the things happening in nature around them, which was how they came up with the story of Persephone to explain the seasons and the story of the falling of the Chariot of the Sun to account for a meteor.

I also wish that they would just portray Mount Olympus like a normal palace with a great hall where they all congregate but not necessarily all just stand around all day. After all, why would Poseidon hang around there when he has all the seas to command, and Vulcan all the volcanoes?

Maybe it would have been too much to ask, but could the different other fantastical creatures of Greek mythology also been shown, however briefly, just like those Easter eggs in the Harry Potter movies?

At least Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is one up on that with showing centaurs (and very well at that, with the horse part even backing up and former 007 moving along with it and satyrs.

Here’s to hoping for more Greek Mythology themed movies that could be shown in school.
