1222: A Hump Day to End All Hump Days

March 24, 2010  (peacee0)

Did I already mention here about the shuttle to the toll gate just south of south woods being stopped? Well, it may have been restarted, because I saw the shuttle here in school earlier.

But even though I got the announcement through internal computer terminal memo about the cancellation, I did not get any memo about the reinstatement. Or maybe it was just a special trip.

I will have to contact the physical facilities office to find out the real deal, but since the IS last day of classes is tomorrow hopes are dim (signs point to no) to be able to get a ride from there again.

@@ Since Monday, apparently I have had my dates mixed up. I thought Monday was the twenty-first, so I thought today was the twenty-third. A student asking for a clearance signed even tried to correct me, but she believed I was right as well. So all documents signed since Monday were dated erroneously.

@@ Update of the student elections: the Student Council is asking for an extension of the filing of candidacy to be able to get more recruits for the nominations. That would mean that the election would be held on the thirteenth week of classes, generally on an activity ban, but hopefully they may be granted an exception as long as it is not going to be considered a precedent.

Another alternative they have is to ask for the lowering of the standards for qualification (the grade point average and laxness on the rules against disciplinary records) but they know that that is a long shot.

We talked about appointments to vacant positions. I told them that I was not against appointing – for lack of a better term, actually there are better terms but I don’t want to waste more words on it right now, which is a moot point given how long this aside has been – losers to vacant positions, I just did not want the loophole exploited by someone who does not have the courage to run and risk losing, but is willing to approach the candidates for president of both parties and ask them to consider him for the vacant position. Thankfully they understood this point.

@@ Today I also brought to the students’ attention the proposed designs for the school attire next school year.

This was after I showed it to the brother president and he said he would like the student inputs first before he presented it to the operations council on Monday and another council tomorrow.

There were four designs given, two for so-called formal (once a week) and two for casual wear (three times a week).

As the Type A and Type B monikers were gotten from their ROTC, and to save on costs of buying a lot of clothes, the students preferred having the casual get up as being just the inner shirt of the formal which has an outer garment.

Now it is my job to relay that to the president and hope that the final design (which may or may not have to be revised by the designers from CSB-SDA) will be ready for making a prototype by next week.

@@ It has been a while since I last dealt with the supposed regular feature on This Time Last Year.

It really is difficult to balance writing about what has been happening currently and at the same time looking back at what had gone before, despite the interesting insights I get sometimes.
